Understanding the Seven Chakras (or Eight)

We know it’s not easy, so we tried to make it easy for you. Understanding the Seven Chakras could be quite daunting so we made this guide easy for all to understand.

Chakras (sanskrit for “wheel of light”) are concentrated points of energy vertically aligned in the center of the body close to the spinethat circulate energy or the life force also known as prana. There are hundreds of chakras in our bodies, proponents say, but it is the seven (or eight) major ones that control the bulk of our physical and mental well-being.

In our quest in understanding the seven Chakras, let us look at how it relates to aura. The aura, which is an electromagnetic field that surrounds the body, can indicate the body health, mental health and spiritual health of an individual. Clear and bright colors indicate good health. Muddy and dark colors indicate an unhealthy or negative state.

The idea of the aura surrounding the body is common in most spiritual traditions. It is a recurrent theme in religious art of the early Greeks and Romans, along with Buddhists and Christians, all show a halo also called a nimbus or aureole.
